DNA Methylation is Powerful
Pyrosequencing is able to quantitate the level of a nucleotide at a designated germ-line or somatic variant, including single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). The amplification signal in Pyrosequencing is proportional to the amount of genetic material and nucleotide present in the order of the sequence.
Our highly methylated DNA is in vitro enzymatically methylated genomic DNA with greater than 85% methylation. Our low methylated DNA is chemically and enzymatically treated with lower than 5% methylation. They are tested on numerous gene-specific and global methylation assays using pyrosequencing technology.
Bisulfite sequencing employing NGS technologies, methylation-specific PCR (MSP), and methylation-sensitive restriction enzyme (MSRE) assays are the most regularly utilized DNA methylation tests.
